At StableSecretary, the software is built by horse people, for horse people. Behind every feature, update, and support response is a team that truly understands barn life—the long days, the moving parts, the paperwork chaos, and the deep love we all share for horses.
Today, we’re excited to introduce you to some of the incredible individuals who help make StableSecretary what it is. From lifelong riders and trainers to testers, bookkeepers, and support specialists, each team member brings unique experience and perspective to the table.
Geoff Teall – Professional Insight & Customer Support

Geoff’s equestrian journey began in Geneseo, New York, home of the historic Genesee Valley Hunt. Growing up surrounded by foxhunting culture, he was introduced to riding early and went on to build a career that spans nearly every role in the horse industry.
Over the years, Geoff has been a groom, braider, rider, trainer, judge, course designer, show manager, clinician, and leader within USEF and USHJA governance, including serving as the first National Vice President of the USHJA. Today, he is semi-retired, focusing on consulting, writing, editing, and selective judging and clinics.
Within StableSecretary, Geoff provides professional horseman insight, assists with Zoom demos, and supports customers in learning how to use the platform effectively. His ongoing collaboration with founder Kate has helped shape StableSecretary into an increasingly intuitive and powerful tool.
His favorite features?
Record keeping, reports, and interconnected data. Being able to enter information once and have it populate everywhere it’s needed is, in his words, a true lifesaver.
Cathy Goodwin – Bookkeeping & Industry Insight

Cathy’s roots in the equestrian world run deep. She started riding at just six years old and spent her teenage years immersed in barn life, riding, braiding, grooming at horse shows, and working polo matches. As a junior rider, she qualified for the AHSA Medal and Maclay Finals and placed 9th in the AHSA Medal Finals her final year.
After college, Cathy traveled the East Coast “A” circuit, braiding and competing to pay the bills before stepping into the role of barn manager for renowned trainer Geoff Teall. That experience eventually evolved into office work and bookkeeping, leading her to where she is today: running her own bookkeeping business serving trainers, veterinarians, farriers, horse shippers, quarantine facilities, and more.
At StableSecretary, Cathy serves as the bookkeeper. Her days revolve around reconciling accounts, managing deposits, recording payments, and keeping the financial health of the business accurate and up to date.
Her favorite feature?
The ability to archive and reactivate horses while preserving their full history, and the powerful search function that finds horses (even archived ones) when names are only half-remembered. In Cathy’s words, it’s “just magical.”
Kaitlyn Lucas – Testing, Support & Mobile App Advocate

Kaitlyn’s horse story began at age seven when her dad signed her and her sister up for hunter/jumper lessons. While life pulled her briefly away from horses, she found her way back during college, and never looked back. After graduating, she bought her first horse and spent the last decade in Florida working her way from working student to assistant trainer, lesson instructor, and now barn manager at a private facility for senior and retired horses.
Her riding background spans hunters, jumpers, dressage, eventing, foxhunting, endurance, and extensive trail riding. Her heart horse, Melody, a 2009 American Mustang from the Adobe Town, Wyoming herd, is her once-in-a-lifetime partner and has carried her through nearly every discipline imaginable.
At StableSecretary, Kaitlyn wears many hats. She handles software testing, user support, and data entry services while also contributing valuable horse-person insight during feature planning and development. She works closely with users, responding quickly to calls, texts, and emails to ensure issues are resolved efficiently.
Her favorite features?
The new client invoice-viewing and online payment tool, and—hands down—the mobile app, which she uses for nearly all her personal record-keeping.
Nicole Jensen – Data Entry & Organization Pro

Nicole started riding at age ten after attending summer horse camps and quickly transitioned into regular lessons at a local barn. Over the years, she’s explored many disciplines, including dressage (her primary focus), hunter/jumpers, eventing, 4-H, gymkhana, drill team, and more.
She currently owns four horses, each with their own personality and story. From Pep, her heart horse of 16 years, to rescue foals Minnie and Taz, whom she helped raise and train, Nicole’s life has grown alongside her horses through every major milestone.
At StableSecretary, Nicole manages data entry. From new accounts and subscription changes to team member updates, she keeps everything accurate and running smoothly behind the scenes.
Her favorite feature?
Reminders. With multiple horses and care schedules to manage, automated reminders for farrier visits, vet appointments, supplements, and medications are a game changer.
Aleksandra (Ola) Marczak – Testing Consultant

Ola’s riding journey began in sixth grade after watching a friend’s lesson down the street from her home. That spark led to years of lessons, summer riding camps in Poland, and eventually joining her college riding team, where she became co-captain during her freshman year.
She’s ridden hunter/jumper and eventing and, while she doesn’t currently own a horse, still rides whenever she can at friends’ barns.
As a testing consultant at StableSecretary, Ola helps ensure every product version works seamlessly before release. Drawing on her own barn experiences, she also contributes ideas to improve user experience. Since this is her second job, she typically works evenings, quietly helping ensure things run smoothly for users.
Her favorite feature?
Scheduling. It’s a tool she wishes she’d had in college to organize lessons and barn logistics more efficiently.
Why This Matters
Every person on the StableSecretary team understands barn life, not just in theory, but through lived experience. We’ve braided, managed, shown, tested, trained, scheduled, invoiced, forgotten paperwork, found it again, and wished for a better system.
That’s why StableSecretary isn’t just software.
It’s a tool shaped by real horse people, real barns, and real daily challenges, designed to make life in the horse world just a little easier.
