Stable Secretary Success Story: Colloway Farms & Durham Equestrian

Colloway Farms was established out of a desire to provide top quality training and boarding for serious riders of any level in Ft. Myers, Florida. The Hull family has been involved in horses for generations. Jerron Hull grew up on his family farm breaking and training young horses for working cattle and land. Their introduction to the hunter/jumper industry came when their son, Brooks, began taking riding lessons at the age of five. The family teamed up with Dustin Durham of Durham Equestrian and have since competed across the country.

Dustin Durham’s love of horses and riding started from birth. His all-around horsemanship experience was obtained through competition in National Grand Prixs, International Hunter Derbies, fox-hunting, three day eventing, pony club, competitive driving, and showing Saddlebreds/Morgans.

How long have you been using Stable Secretary?

A: We’ve just been using Stable Secretary for three or four months now. I’ve tried some other apps but this one seems to be the most inclusive and detailed. I wish we had found out about it sooner!

How did you hear about us?

A: I heard about the app through a groom that was working for us at a show one weekend. She had worked with several other facilities before and had been at one busy show barn in particular that found it extremely useful. Since we have been getting more horses and are back to showing, she recommended it to us.

How does Stable Secretary help streamline barn management for your facility?

A: This software is great because not only does it give you the ability to keep track of all the horses’ records and files, but you can also do billing, show scheduling, appointment scheduling, and more all in the same place. The weekly reminders for upcoming and past due appointments are also super helpful for someone who may not check the app every day. It’s great to be able to access all the info I need in one place, especially with close to 20 horses, half of which are on the road showing at least half of every month.

How long have you been involved with horses?

A: Since I was 3, it’s pretty much all I’ve ever wanted to do.

Can you provide a brief description of your current establishment?

A: Facility geared towards thorough and advanced training for truly dedicated riders. We strive to go above and beyond the standard expectation of a rider at a certain age or development in their riding career, and really focus on fast-tracking each rider based on their individual goals.

What is your proudest achievement under saddle?

A: Every time one of my horses goes clear in a round is an achievement to me because I love them being successful.

What is a major goal for you moving forward?
A: My ultimate goal is to one day compete in the World Cup Finals
